What a successful event again this year at Makray Golf Club in Barrington!  Even the weather was a perfect sunny day.

Special thanks go to the event co-chairs, Ginny Beck & Judith Stone, and their committee, as well as the always helpful staff at Makray.

John Barrett from Bob Rohrman’s Schaumburg Honda sponsored the new car “Hole-in-One” contests and $10,000 “Putting Contest” again this year.  The putting finalist, Jill Minner, made a great effort with lots of crowd support. 

Congratulations to all the winners on the golf course!  The front nine winners were: Mary Stallone, Lisa Gilmore, Dianne Brownson and Jan Broughton.  Back nine winners were: Sue McVickers, Joni Lolli, Marie Beath and Cyndi Zurawski.  Maureen Ahern and Marie Beath were Closest to the Pin winners; Kelly Yager and Marie Beath had the Longest Drives.  Louise Knox, Cindy Petronoff, Pam Panczyk and Fran Guziel had the distinction of being “most honest golfers”.

There were several tables of wonderful silent auction prizes donated by 75 donors, including Sports Tickets, clothing, Spa pampering items, golf parties, and dining out, to name a few.  It was a lively auction that included a “Buy it Now” option for the first time this year.

110 golfers and lunchers attended the event this year.  Through underwriting, the silent auction, the Second Start program, and miscellaneous donations, almost $105,000 was raised to support Home of the Sparrow this year!
