#ThankfulThursday | On December 8, 2020 Chicago Bears Offensive Tackle, Charles Leno Jr. and his wife Jennifer and daughter, stopped by Home of the Sparrow’s administrative office to drop off gifts for homeless women and children.
HOS is extremely grateful to have been one of twenty charities that Charles Leno Jr. and his wife, Jennifer Leno, have chosen as part of their “Leno Claus’ 25 Day Countdown to Christmas”! In the spirit of giving back and spreading holiday cheer, the Lenos have also partnered with 19 additional organizations in the Chicagoland area and the Bay area, as well as a handful of families & individuals.
Leno Claus’ 25 Day Countdown to Christmas will be featuring one charity each day during December, highlighting organizations and their missions. Their hopes are to utilize their platforms to inspire their communities to also give back to those in need. The Lenos have graciously participated in HOS’s annual Holiday Gift Program. The program offers 3 great ways of giving for individuals, groups, and businesses. Community members may choose to give the Gift of Hope that includes a monetary donation to support HOS’s programs and services, the Gift of Opportunity which includes donations from their Shelter Needs Wish List, and the Gift of Support which includes donations of gift cards to help aid clients during the holiday season.
The Lenos visited HOS’s Headquarters in McHenry, IL to deliver their Gift of Opportunity donation and meet with the Executive Director, Matthew Kostecki, and staff. HOS is overwhelmed with their generosity and thanks them for their kindness during these challenging times. Each gift will help many of the clients at HOS’s shelter. Thank you for spreading more awareness about homelessness and for supporting HOS’s mission!
