Home of the Sparrow gratefully welcomes your support through the various Sponsorship Opportunities Packet available in making our 2015 events a success! Every year, Home of the Sparrow, hosts four fundraising events to assist in the growing need of shelter, affordable housing and supportive services for approximately 300 plus homeless women and children, to whom we serve within Northern Illinois.
Home of the Sparrow began 2015 with their annual women’s luncheon. This year’s them was “There’s No Place Like Home” and was held at D’ Andrea Banquets & Conference Center in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Kelly Swanson, comedian and motivational story teller, returned by popular demand for a second year. Her southern charm took the attendees to Prides Hollow, her tiny town about a mile and a hair past nowhere, where the simple life is revered, ordinary heroes are appreciated, and the stories aren’t fancy – they’re about people like us. No matter what the outside world may have in store for you – There’s No Place Like Home. Guests invited their friends and co-workers and joined us for a fun filled afternoon of good simple humor where they were motivated by Kelly’s message of women and community.
On May 16th 2015, “Give My Regards to Broadway”, Home of the Sparrow’s annual Gala & Organ Concert was held at The Sanfilippo Estate, in Barrington Hills. The estate was nothing other than magnificent! The gala is Home of the Sparrow’s largest fundraising event of the year. Guests enjoyed the splendorous world of The Sanfilippo Estate via self-guided tours exploring the world’s largest collection of beautifully restored music machines; steam engine collection; glass-front orchestrions and more. An organ concert of Broadway musical hits was performed on the extraordinary Sanfilippo Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ. The evening continued, as guests indulged in butler style hors d’oeuvres, a four hour open bar, exquisite dinner, various auctions and enjoyment on the Eden Palais Carousel.
Home of the Sparrow is hosting its 10th Annual Charity Golf Outing for homeless women and children on August 24, 2015. Bull Valley Golf Club, in Woodstock, offers our participants a day of golf at their picturesque 18 hole, par 72 golf course. Golfers can register as an individual or foursome. Many attend as company representatives through one of the various Golf Event Sponsorship packages available. This fundraising event begins the day with a shotgun start – scramble format, includes greens & cart, lunch, contests with awards, an auction, dinner and more. Those unable to partake in an entire day of golf enjoy participating in our auction and dinner option.
Home of the Sparrow’s event success is credited largely to our generous sponsors, who lend their names and financial support. The money raised at each event directly supports our transitional shelters, affordable housing units, transitional apartments and comprehensive supportive services. We anticipated, in the year of 2015, to serve over 324 women and children. As of March 2015 – Home of the Sparrow has collectively served over 500 women and children of Northern, Illinois. At any given time, Home of the Sparrow provides shelter to an average of 65% children and 75% women from a domestic violence situation.
A variety of sponsorship levels are detailed in our Sponsorship Opportunities Packet. You have an option to combine sponsorships for all four events, which many companies find appealing for budgetary purposes. If you prefer, we can mix and match to create a custom fit for your business! Please select the level of participation that best meets your needs, and be secure in the knowledge that your sponsorship will be used to help the homeless women and children of Home of the Sparrow.
